Summer Job at theYMCA

I applied for a job at a YMCA in Columbus, OH about a week ago. Recently I've been in contact with the director of the youth sports camps for the summer and we've been emailing each other. I just recieved an email back today saying he wants to meet with me for an interview. I'm really excited about this because it will be a great addition to my resume. Ever since high school I've been doing landscaping as a summer job. Working as a sports camp counselor will be a good thing as a health and physical education major. I have my interview April 19th, so I hope I will hear back from him soon after that to see whether or not i get the job.

PDA vs. Smartphone

I've been wanting to get a pocket PC or PDA for some time know and the more I look the more I can't find them. I would be more comfortable with one of those devices but find them hard to find because they are being pushed out by the smartphones. Each device basically does the same thing except for the smartphone that is abviously a phone as well. I hope I can still find a PDA or pocket PC in the near future because I couldn't see myself using a smartphone for more than it's PDA capabilities and it would also be awkward to hold as a phone. I guess I'll just have to keep doing my research.

Perfomance Enhancing Drugs

How bad are performance enhancing drugs and steroids getting, I'll tell you. This morning I read in the USA Today that German pool player (billiards) was banned from playing pool for a year after testing positive for EPO. How ridiculous is that? That's not all. Earlier this year I read that they are going to start testing for performance enhancing drugs in on the PGA Tour for golfers. Oh yeah, it is said they are going to start testing in the PBR and it's not testing for the bull riders; they're going to test the bulls. If we are so worried about steroids that we have to test billiard players, golfers, and bulls then we might as well start testing horse racing and little leaguers.

Terelle Pryor

Terelle Pryor is said to be down to his top two college choices and will decide by the end of the week. Pryor has led his Jeanette to both the football and basketball state titles. He didn't want to make a decision before basketball ended to avoid distracting him and his teamates. However, now that the season is over he has narrowed his choices to two. He did not say which two colleges he has narrowed it to, but a recruiting analyst that had talked with him believes it is down to Ohio State and Michigan. The analyst believes that Pryor will choose Ohio State after talking with him and I sure hope he dooes. However, we will have to wait until at least the end of this week to see where one of the best athletes to come out of this area will continue is athletic and collegiate career.

New Computer?

I'm thinking about getting a new laptop, because I want one to type notes on and the other to use in my room. It may seem a little pointless but I think it's a good idea. I reall like the idea of getting a tablet PC but those are kind of out of my price range. However, it seems like that would make the most sense because I can write faster than I type yet my handwriting is pretty bad. I don't know what I want to do yet, but soon I hope to get a new laptop. My biggest decision is to what brand of computer I want.

Bummer!

My high school basketball team finally lost in the Western Finals to the Jeanette Jayhawks. North East had a great team this year going 29-2 with their only losses coming to AAAA McDowell and Jeanette most recently in the playoff. They played a great game and were ranked fifth in the state and lost to the number three ranked team in the state who has the number one football recruit and the number twenty basketball reruit in Terelle Pryor. He's an amazing athlete and Jeanette played a great game and they also have a great shot at doing what General McLane did last year by doubling up state titles in basketball and football.

Final Project

So, I'm really excited for break. However, we have our Assessment Strategies final project due when we come back and I think it is going to take a while. Most likely I will have to do it over break. I guess the best way to do it is little by little so I can still relax on break instead of killing myself over this project. Once that is done, my break is all open and Assessment Strategies class will be done. I can't wait, this last week or so has been so stressful.

Newsletter and Brochure

I finished my webpage and all the other work that is due before break. I felt so relieved, but then I realized I had other stuff that was due when we got back and I didn't want to do it over break. I decided to complete the newsletter and the brochure so it would all be done for when I came back. It feels like I've had no life this past week because all I did was school work to keep up and get ahead, but I think it was all worth it.
